Welcome ANC1B11 Neighbor

After a whirlwind campaign, thanks to you, I was sworn in by City Councilman Jim Graham on January 3, as the newest member of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission, representing 2000 citizens in Washington DC, to City Council and Mayor Adrian Fenty.

Our Single Member District 1B11 has some real challenges, as it encompasses a swath of different communities, with varying needs. Our constituents include Howard University, a large stretch of Georgia Avenue which will be undergoing transformational commercial and residential redevelopment, the Kelly Miller, Williston and LeDroit Park Apartments (which houses every single one of the people who voted for me) as well as other DC Housing Authority properties, many local business including the 9:30 Nightclub, and other pockets of residential areas along the northern boundary of the area.

ANC 1B11 Monthly Community Meetings have been scheduled for the second Monday of every month, from 6:00 - 7:00pm, in the Recreation Room (Basement) of the LeDroit Park Apartments at 2125 4th Street NW. All meetings are open to the public.

I look forward to working with you and the Council and Mayor to make ANC1B11 even better. Please feel free to contact me with any thoughts or concerns.

I am so grateful for all of your support, your volunteer work, your creative ideas, your time, and your financial support.
